Svexa's Olof Hedberg named US Ski Team coach for 2022 Junior World Ski Championships

We're excited to report that svexa's Director of Applied Sports Science Olof Hedberg has been selected as the U20 U.S. Ski Team coach for the 2022 Junior World Ski Championships, which will take place from Feb. 22-27 in Lygna, Norway. This follows his leadership of Summit Nordic Ski Club for the last seven years, where he has developed some of the leading talent in US nordic junior skiing.

“I’m excited to coach the next generation of U.S. ski stars and help the best juniors in the United States race internationally,” says Olof, “and of course I believe we can have big success on the international stage.”

Svexa is continuously expanding to more sports, including cross country skiing. Of particular note is athlete Nina Schamberger. With Olof's coaching, Nina has been using svexa tools and insights from an early age, and has seen great success. Last season at 15 years of age she was ranked best in the world in her age group, and this season at 16 she is selected to represent USA at the Junior World Championship against athletes up to 4 years older. She recently won the junior bronze medal in 7.5 km Skate Mass start and also the junior silver medal at the 10 km Classic at the US Nationals.

As well as his role as Director of Applied Sports Science at svexa and work with Summit Nordic Ski Club, Olof is an Adventure Racing Champion, MBA, and former financial equity analyst.
