One of the organizations that Svexa is honoured to support is Girls Gotta Run, a team who invest in girls who use running and education to empower themselves and their communities in Ethiopia. GGRF envisions a world in which every girl is able to design a future of her choosing - it is the first and only organization of its type in Africa in Africa. Since it’s inception, Girls Gotta Run has seen 96% of its program participants in its two program locations avoid early marriage, complete the Girls Gotta Run program in full, and enter higher levels of education. GGRF recently issued their 2020 annual report.
Through our participation in LadderWorks, an organization highlighting social entrepreneurs and their non-profit organisations, Svexa recently nominated Girls Gotta Run Executive Director Danielle Taylor to give an interview for NASDAQ's Spiffy's Blog:
Danielle Taylor specializes in the grassroots pursuit of human rights and the empowerment of women and girls in Sub-Saharan Africa. Before joining Girls Gotta Run Foundation as the executive director, Danielle worked with respected international aid organizations to advance the human rights of women and girls globally. Most recently, she founded and led Òman Baako, a non-profit organization that works to build stronger, more equitable communities across Africa and the African diaspora.
